“I have been using Royal Purple for many years. My vehicle is a 1985 Jeep CJ-7 with a stock 305 Chevy engine. I use it to push sprint cars throughout the Southeast on pavement and dirt. With 485,000 miles on my vehicle I know what every noise, smell and fluid problem is quickly.

I changed the cam and lifters a few weeks ago and ever since I haven’t gotten a proper reading from the oil gauge. When I pulled the dip stick I had no reading on it. After putting in my only quart of Royal Purple, the oil pressure returned on the gauge. I was able to drive 15 miles to a parts store where I put in three more quarts of oil.

(With the cam change my valve guides seals had failed and the Royal Purple was being sucked into the motor and burned.) I didn’t see any smoke from the dual exhaust so I was caught off guard on the oil loss. My engine temperature never got above 185 degrees during the whole ordeal.
